Legal information and conditions of participation
By agreeing to sign up for the Programme, you acknowledge and agree that:
The services are paid for by the University but provided by mShare and their affiliates;
The University has contractual arrangements in place with mShare which means that appropriate safeguards are in place for any personal data shared with mShare under UK GDPR;
The internships are subject to separate contractual arrangements between you and the internship provider; such contractual terms are not reviewed by nor endorsed by the University. The University is not involved in this selection process and is not affiliated internship providers;
You should rely on your own research concerning any internship provider that you interact with using mShare’s platform including their activities, legal compliance and insurances before deciding whether to enter into a contract and undertake an internship;
When you choose to engage with an internship provider and share any personal information (such as CV’s, applications, onboarding pre employment medical checks, disability information, emergency contacts) this will be done on a consent basis and is not covered by contractual arrangements with the University.
Internship providers operate under Chinese data protection laws. As such, personal data that you share with these providers, will lose the protections provided by UK GPDR. The University accordingly accepts no responsibility for the security of any personal data once shared with the internship providers.
Your participation in the Programme is at your own risk, and to the greatest extent permissible by law the University accepts no responsibility for your participation or any loss you may suffer as a result.
The University and mShare are separate data controllers for the data that they each process as part of this programme. Both parties will need to share personal information with each other to enable your participation and to evaluate the programme. The University’s lawful basis for processing and sharing your personal data is public task.
Your personal data may consist of:
Personal identification and contact information including name, phone numbers, email address, student ID, WeChat ID.
Education information including University name, course of study or offer holder course.
Employment information including CV, role, job type, company name, internship duration, salary.
